  1. *Get The Look*

    April 14, 2011 by Kate

Hayden Panettiere looked AMAZING in this bright orange Zac Posen dress at the Scream 4 premiere last night! I love this color for summer because with a tan it really pops!

Now, I know we all wish we could get THIS dress, but at $1,600, I do not think it is going to happen! So, I have searched and found a great alternative to pull off this great look!

I give you the “Terry Dress” from BB Dakota!

This dress still gives you the great bright orange color, however it only costs $80! Check it out HERE and you will be ready to rock the red carpet too!

  3. Investigation: Trench Coat

    by Kate

When I saw this picture of Renée Zellweger in Tommy Hilfiger’s red-hot trench coat, it made me want to find the best trenches for Spring 2011!

Trench coats are classic and every wardrobe should contain one!

I found this great trench at Gap. With a more modern take on the trench, this option grants an amazing get up and go look. Throw it on over any simple tee and pair it will dark skinny jeans. This soft trench is great for a light, spring jacket.

The updated trench comes in both gray and black for only $89.95! Check it out HERE!

This Juicy Couture trench stays true to the traditional trench silhouette, however adds great detailing at the shoulders for a little more style!

This would be a great addition to any closet, get it for $348. Check it out HERE!

Elie Tahari’s ‘Shari’ Belted Trench is great for this spring. With wide sleeves and a streamline cut, this coat would look great on any body type. I also love the non-traditional collar on the jacket.

Coming in both black and neutral, it is yours for $275. Check it out HERE!

I can not do a post about trenches and not include Burberry!

This Burberry Brit Packable Trench is beautiful and an added plus… It easily packs into any bag.

It includes the traditional double-breasted styling, but changes it up with different color choices: Beetroot, Sowester, Caper and Black.

This piece will never go out of style and is worthy of the investment. Check it out HERE for $650.

  4. *Quick Snack*

Portobello Mushroom Caps with Plum Tomatoes, Goat Cheese, and Pesto!

So, I must be having an obsession with goat cheese! This quick snack is extremely easy to make and it only takes about 15 minutes to make!

What you need: Portobello Mushroom Caps, Plum Tomatoes, Goat Cheese, Pesto Sauce & Italian Bread Crumbs.

First, put your broiler on high. Next, brush italian dressing on the mushroom caps and place under the broiler for 5 minutes. In a bowl, combine crumbles of goat cheese, sliced plum tomatoes and about 2 T of pesto sauce. Take the mushroom caps out of the oven and spoon mixture on top of the caps. Sprinkle bread crumbs over the mixture and put them back in the broiler for about 10 minutes.

    Finally, ENJOY!

… beautiful SHOES like the ones Selena Gomez wore in the ‘Who Says’ Video?

Selena Gomez looks gorgeous in her new music video for “Who Says”… But when the video showed a close up of those killer heels, I needed to find them!

Even though I could not uncover the exact pair, Steve Madden has a pair that look great and let’s be honest, at a price point we all can afford.

Perfectly named “PARTYY-R”, Steve Madden does a great job with this black satin pump. The 5 inch heel and 1 in platform would look great with any cocktail dress!

Check them out HERE for only $129.95! They also come in neutral (a HOT spring trend!) and red… Take your pick!

    by Kate

    Shrimp & Goat Cheese Risotto

    What You Need:

    - 1 Qt Chicken Broth

    - 3/4 lb Shrimp

    - 1 T Butter

    - 2 T Olive Oil

    - 2 Garlic Cloves

    - 1 Small Onion

    - 1 Cup Arborio Rice

    - 1/2 Cup Dry White Wine

    - 1/4 Cup Goat Cheese

    - Seasonings: Salt, Pepper, Parsley

Ok! This recipe is really easy & it tastes amazing!

First, in a saucepan, pour in the chicken broth and bring it to a simmer. Add the shrimp and cover, cooking for about 2 minutes. After, take shrimp out and set aside.

Next, in a wide saucepan, heat the olive oil and butter. Add the minced garlic and chopped onion, stirring occasionally for about 4 minutes. Add the arborio rice and cook for about 1 minute. Next, add the white wine and simmer until is almost evaporates, about 3 minutes.

Then, add 1 cup of chicken broth and cook, stirring constantly, until it is absorbed into the rice. Continue adding the broth 1 cup at a time until it is absorbed. The rice is done in about 25 minutes.

Plate the risotto in a bowl, top with shrimp, goat cheese and your choice of seasonings.

    Finally… ENJOY!
